At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Labor, Health, Women's Affairs, and Social Issues, Deputy Ulukbek Karybek uulu drew attention to the absence of a Hand Microsurgery Center in the southern regions of the country.

He emphasized that there is only one such center operating in Kyrgyzstan, located in Bishkek, and patients are forced to travel to the capital to receive the necessary treatment.

“Is there any plan to open a similar center or at least a branch in Osh?” he inquired of the representatives of the Ministry of Health.

Deputy Minister of Health Aibek Matkerimov stated that this issue will be considered.

“We need to find out how many patients seek help each year. It is also necessary to take into account the problem of staff shortages, as training specialists is required to start,” he added.

Karybek uulu also noted that there have been complaints from citizens about the staff of the Osh Regional Hospital, who demand payment for anesthesia.

“I ask you to pay attention to the work of maternity hospitals as well. The law clearly states that childbirth and postpartum care should be free for a year,” the deputy declared.

The deputy minister responded that there are a few medical workers who tarnish the reputation of the system, and efforts to identify such cases are ongoing.
