Fines for Violations in the Halal Industry are Introduced in Kyrgyzstan

Fines will range from 7,500 to 23,000 soms

In Kyrgyzstan, the introduction of administrative measures for violations in the halal industry is being discussed. These amendments were reviewed at a recent meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sultan Akhmatov reported that the current law "On the Halal Industry in the Kyrgyz Republic" already contains provisions on liability for violations; however, they have not yet been integrated into the Code of Administrative Offenses.

Thus, it is planned to supplement the code with a new article dedicated to "Violations of the Requirements of the Legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Halal Industry."

According to the proposed bill, the following fines are stipulated for the sale of halal products and services without the necessary supporting documents:
— 7,500 soms for individuals;
— 23,000 soms for organizations.

Additionally, for non-compliance with the procedure for confirming the compliance of halal products and services for legal entities, a fine of 13,000 soms is proposed.

After discussion, the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh unanimously approved the bill in the first reading.
