- One of the key methods for combating pasture degradation is to focus on quality rather than increasing livestock numbers. This was reported by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Zhanibek Kerimaliev, during a broadcast on the state television channel, as conveyed by the press service of the ministry.

Experts claim that increasing the share of high-yield breeding livestock can reduce the load on pastures by up to 5%.

“In essence, maintaining a smaller but more productive herd, both for meat and dairy purposes, represents a more economically and environmentally viable solution,” noted Kerimaliev.

As part of these initiatives, high-quality breeding seeds have been imported into the country, including Aberdeen Angus, Simmental, and Swedish breeds. Farmers receive seed material through veterinarians and technical specialists, as well as consulting support in accordance with the breeding livestock development program.

The Deputy Minister added that after the autumn season, an analysis of the growth and productivity indicators of the new breeds will be conducted, which will allow for the assessment of the effectiveness of the implemented project.
