Uzbekistan implements Russian experience in controlling bloggers' income

The Uzbek delegation from the Tax Committee visited Moscow to study the practices employed by the Federal Tax Service of Russia for monitoring the income of citizens working online, including bloggers. This visit aims to implement modern solutions and ensure greater transparency in the digital sector.

In 2025, Uzbekistan made a significant step towards legalizing the internet economy by officially including the advertising services of bloggers and other similar services in the calculations of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). According to the National Statistical Committee, the market volume of advertising related to bloggers registered as self-employed amounts to 62 million dollars (760.2 billion sums). However, experts note that the actual figures are likely much higher, as many large influencers collaborate with advertising agencies and legal entities.

In addition to bloggers, other previously unaccounted sectors are now reflected in the official statistics and tax records of Uzbekistan:

Courier services and delivery - market volume is 3.75 trillion sums;

Catering - over 2 trillion sums;

Private legal services and notaries - more than 1.5 trillion sums;

Intermediaries in car markets - about 65 million dollars.

The Uzbek side paid special attention to Russian technologies related to personal accounts and mobile applications for self-employed individuals, which allow tax payments to be made with one click. The exchange of experience with Russia will help Uzbekistan legalize the income of many citizens working through social networks and digital platforms, thereby creating comfortable conditions for interaction between business and the state.
