- On March 3, Deputy Gulnara Akimbaeva presented a bill to the parliament aimed at indexing wages in response to rising consumer prices. This document has been made available on the parliament's website.

The proposed changes include an addition to the Civil Code with the following provision:

“Wage indexing for employees will be carried out to enhance the real value of their labor compensation in connection with the increase in prices for goods and services.”

For organizations funded by the state budget, indexing will be conducted in accordance with the established regulatory legal acts of the Kyrgyz Republic.

As for private organizations that do not receive budget funding, the indexing procedure will be determined through collective agreements, contracts, or local regulatory acts.

In the justification for the bill, the deputy notes that the current version of the Labor Code enshrines the right of employees to receive fair compensation; however, it does not specify clear mechanisms to ensure the real value of wages. According to Akimbaeva, the lack of a direct reference to indexing as a means of protecting labor rights leads to ambiguity in the interpretation of norms and reduces the level of protection for employees' rights.
