
The Ministry of Economy reports an increase in consumer lending and a decrease in the level of overdue loans.
As of June 30, 2025, the total volume of the banking system's loan portfolio in Kyrgyzstan reached 416 billion 900 million soms. The most notable growth is observed in the consumer lending segment, which increased by 37.9 percent.
The level of overdue loans remains low at just 1.7 percent, which corresponds to 7 billion 200 million soms. The overdue rate for Islamic financing has also decreased to 2.6 percent, amounting to 400 million soms.
According to data from the National Bank, the assets of financial institutions increased by 24.1 percent, totaling 1 trillion 12 billion soms. The net profit of the banking sector amounted to 14 billion 770 million soms.
The increase in lending volumes positively affects the development of small and medium-sized businesses, which account for 37 percent of the country's gross domestic product.
