A cascade of small hydropower plants is planned to be built on the Tar River in the Osh region.

In the Kara-Kulja district of the Osh region, a memorandum of understanding has been signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and LLC "Kyrgyzstan Reclaim Co. LTD" for the construction of a cascade of small hydropower plants on the Tar River. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.

The document was signed by Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov and the General Director of the company, Tsu Chenzi.

According to the terms of the memorandum, the parties plan to implement an investment project that includes the construction of a cascade of small hydropower plants with a total installed capacity of approximately 200 megawatts.

The total investment in the project is estimated at $300 million.

The government emphasizes that the implementation of these activities will increase generating capacity, enhance the energy resilience of the country, and contribute to the development of the energy sector in Kyrgyzstan.
