The launch of new coal-fired thermal power plants with a capacity of 1050 megawatts is planned in Kyrgyzstan. This information emerged after a meeting between the country's Minister of Energy, Taalaibek Ibraev, and representatives of the consortium of companies GPRC, NRP, and KCG — Konstantin Panovko and Alexander Ong.

The press service of the Ministry of Energy reported that the minister proposed the company to consider the possibility of constructing a thermal power plant on the territory of the republic's coal deposits.

Consortium representatives expressed their readiness to design, finance, and build three thermal stations.

Each station will have a capacity of 350 megawatts, totaling 1050 megawatts for the entire project. Investors plan to implement clean coal technologies that meet international environmental standards.

Partners confirmed their experience in constructing similar facilities. The application of modern technologies will ensure reliable and uninterrupted energy production. In the near future, specialists will begin studying the characteristics of local coal, including its calorific value, ash content, moisture, as well as sulfur and phosphorus content, and the yield of volatile substances.

The Minister of Energy urged them to start research and promised that the ministry would provide comprehensive support for the successful implementation of this project.
