- At the parliament meeting on February 5, 2026, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Zhanibek Abirov raised the issue of the timelines for the gasification of the country.

Acting Deputy General Director for Economics and Finance of "Gazprom Kyrgyzstan" Arzymat Aldayev noted that the company's task is to fully complete the gasification of the Kyrgyz Republic within the next five years, with plans to finish the work by 2030.

He emphasized that the successful implementation of the project will depend on numerous technical and infrastructure aspects.

Aldayev reminded that until 2022, Kyrgyzstan received gas from fields in neighboring countries; however, since 2022, supplies have ceased due to resource depletion.

"Currently, gas is being supplied to the country in transit from Russia through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. However, the transit capacities of these countries remain limited," he added.

As Aldayev reported, in 2024, a four-party agreement was signed between Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and "Gazprom".

As part of these agreements, the construction of a second main gas pipeline through the territories of neighboring states is planned, which is expected to be commissioned by 2027. This will significantly increase the volumes of gas supplies to Kyrgyzstan.

According to Aldayev, the company's investment program is aligned with the international project. In particular, work is currently underway to create gas distribution stations and networks.

There are also plans to expand gas supplies for heat and power plants in Bishkek, including the city's CHP, CHP-2, and CHP "Bishkekselmash," which are currently only functioning at the initial stage.
