Trump added: “Last time, Iran decided that it was more beneficial not to reach a deal and faced the consequences. I hope that this time they will show more reason and responsibility. According to information from The Financial Times, the president of Iran stated his readiness to open nuclear facilities for international inspections. Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed that the country is open to “any inspections” to demonstrate its lack of intentions to develop nuclear weapons, amid ongoing negotiations aimed at preventing military actions from the United States. However, it remains unclear whether this signifies a change in policy that would only allow partial inspections of facilities.
“We have repeatedly stated that we do not seek to possess nuclear weapons. We are ready for any inspections,” emphasized Pezeshkian.
Meanwhile, the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, reported that inspectors have been waiting for a long time for permission to access three key Iranian uranium enrichment facilities that were bombed by Israel and the U.S. in June 2025. Tehran's change in position in the context of important negotiations may indicate that Iran is seeking greater transparency and has nothing to hide, which, according to Grossi, would make the justification for new attacks questionable.
At the same time, the Pentagon is preparing to deploy a second aircraft carrier in the Middle East region, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
Trump continues to pressure Iran to reach a deal on its nuclear program. According to three U.S. officials, the Pentagon has been instructed to prepare a second carrier strike group for possible deployment in the region, as American military forces prepare for potential actions against Iran. However, a final decision on this matter has not yet been made at the White House.
