Washington has handed Tehran a 15-point plan for exiting the Middle Eastern conflict, reports The New York Times.

The United States has sent Iran a 15-point plan to end the war in the Middle East. This reflects the Trump administration's desire to find a way out of the conflict amid the struggle with its economic consequences.

Among other things, the plan addresses key security issues, including Iran's missile and nuclear programs.

According to sources, a separate point of the plan is the restoration of security in maritime routes, primarily in the Strait of Hormuz, the blockage of which has led to disruptions in energy resource supplies and a sharp spike in global oil and gas prices.

Insiders note that Pakistan facilitated the transfer of the text of the American plan to the Iranian side, acting as a diplomatic intermediary.

Earlier, Axios columnist Barak Ravid, citing a senior Israeli official, reported that contacts are underway to organize a meeting between high-ranking representatives of Iran and the United States in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, as early as this week.

As part of the preparations for the summit in Pakistan, there is a possibility that U.S. Vice President Vance will be the main representative of the American side.

Israel was aware of the mediation efforts by several countries to initiate negotiations between Iran and the U.S., but was surprised by Trump's statements that these contacts are progressing and that agreements have already been reached on 15 points.
