Avalanches and Snow Drifts Expected in Several Passes of Kyrgyzstan

From March 6 to 10, unstable weather is expected in Kyrgyzstan, which may lead to avalanches and snow drifts in the mountainous areas of the country, as well as the formation of ice on the roads.

Forecasters warn of increased avalanche danger on the following roads:

Bishkek — Osh

121–138 km — Töö-Ashuu Pass

198–265 km — Chychkan Gorge, Ala-Bel Pass

Myzrak — Kara-Kulja — Alayku

55–115 km

Ala-Buka — Kanysh-Kiya

45–112 km — Chapchima Pass

Krasnaya Gorka — Ak-Tash

0–3 km

Bishkek — Naryn — Torugart

292–305 km — Dolon Pass

Balykchy — Kazarman — Jalal-Abad

201–205 km

260–290 km

326–349 km — Kök-Art Pass

Karakoil — Enilchek

45–90 km — Chon-Ashuu Pass

There is a high probability of avalanches, snow drifts, and ice formation on the listed sections.

Drivers are strongly advised to exercise caution on the road, in particular, to maintain a distance of at least 500 meters between vehicles.
