Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova addressed the Deputy Mayor of Bishkek, Ramiz Aliyev, with a question about the timeline for transferring the park to the city administration.
Aliyev clarified that this transfer occurred approximately two years ago, prior to which the park was managed by the Presidential Administration.
Mavlyanova asked if the Deputy Mayor was aware of the current state of the park. In response, Aliyev stated that representatives of the city administration had assessed the situation.
According to the deputy, the park, created by the Azerbaijani side, is in a deplorable state.
“The Azerbaijanis created a wonderful park for Bishkek, but 90% of the greenery has died. The junipers and lawns have dried up. While you discuss the creation of new parks, you have failed to maintain the existing one. Creating new parks requires funding, which leads to misallocation of resources. If there were problems with water supply, alternative irrigation methods should have been found. Someone needs to be held accountable for this,” the deputy noted.
In response, Aliyev stated that after the park was transferred to the city administration, an irrigation system was organized.
He also added that the information about 90% of the vegetation drying up is not accurate, as irrigation is being conducted in the park.
