In Bishkek, the reconstruction of the wastewater treatment facilities continues as part of an investment project with a total budget of 56 million US dollars. The press service of the city administration reported this on January 22.

Currently, certain successes have been achieved: two reservoirs have been put into operation and an automated process control system has been implemented.

The project envisions a treatment facility capacity of 380,000 cubic meters per day. The Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Junushaliev, has ordered the exploration of the possibility of increasing this capacity to 500,000 cubic meters per day, as reported by the city administration.
