In a recent interview with the "Kabar" agency, the chief architect of the capital, Mederbek Kydyrmaev, spoke about a new tram project.

He noted that many people still perceive trams as outdated transportation, which is a mistake. "There are modern non-rail models, such as BRT. These trams will operate on dedicated lanes that will also be accessible to other public transport," he explained.

According to the new master plan, the first phase will involve the construction of 28 kilometers of tram lines. Two lines are planned to connect the area of the new stadium with the city center, passing along Jibek Jolu Avenue, Shabdan Baatyr, Fuchik, and Akhunbaev streets, as well as extending into residential areas.

In addition, a new type of public transport — the metrobus — will be introduced in Bishkek.
