The choice of this particular location is not accidental. The Ivanovka station has a significant area, creating excellent conditions for the establishment of multimodal terminals, warehouse spaces, and related facilities. This will allow for the implementation of the latest technologies that meet international standards.
It is expected that the new logistics center will significantly improve the existing infrastructure and strengthen the country's position in international trade, serving as a powerful stimulus for the growth of small and medium-sized businesses. It will also contribute to the socio-economic development of the region by increasing the number of jobs and enhancing Kyrgyzstan's transit potential.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, together with the European Union, has already allocated funds for the development of a preliminary feasibility study (pre-FS) for the project. The analysis conducted as part of the pre-FS confirmed that the project has good prospects for implementation.
Currently, work is underway to prepare a complete feasibility study (FS) for the construction of the logistics center at the Ivanovka station.
On January 29 of this year, a meeting was held with participants from the state enterprise "NC Kyrgyz Temir Zholu," EBRD, and the EU, where issues of financing the development of the FS for this project were discussed. Representatives of the EBRD and the EU expressed their readiness to provide grant funding for a comprehensive FS of the logistics center at the Ivanovka railway station.
Meeting participants emphasized the strategic importance of this project, which is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency of the country's transport and logistics infrastructure, create new jobs, and stimulate economic development in the region.
The project aims to modernize the railway infrastructure and strengthen the role of the state enterprise "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu" in ensuring the sustainable development of Kyrgyzstan's transport system.
