Previously, the republic received $180 million as part of the water supply program.
At the conclusion of the discussion process, the Jogorku Kenesh of Kyrgyzstan approved the loan agreement with the OPEC Fund for International Development in the third and final reading.
According to the new agreement, the republic will additionally receive $20 million for the implementation of the first phase of the "Universal Access to Water Supply and Sanitation" program.
The loan is provided on favorable terms: its repayment period is 20 years, including a 5-year grace period, with an interest rate of 1.25% per annum.
This tranche increases the total budget of the program, which has already reached $180 million. The project aims to modernize infrastructure in 126 villages in the Osh, Chui, and Issyk-Kul regions, which will provide safe drinking water to over 425,000 people.
