The main reason is the insufficient gas pressure, as well as the ongoing modernization process of the station.
Daniyar Amangeldiev, who holds the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, voiced the reasons why the CHP has not yet been switched to gas.
He noted that different tariffs are set for the station—one for the population and another for commercial organizations. After switching to gas, the CHP will operate under the commercial tariff.
Amangeldiev added that the modernization of the CHP is a lengthy process that cannot be completed instantly. Nevertheless, the transition to gas is planned, and work in this direction is being carried out in cooperation with Gazprom.
“At the moment, the main difficulty lies in the insufficient gas pressure for the operation of the CHP. As soon as we resolve this issue, the switch to gas can be implemented immediately. This is a task we plan to work on over the next one to two years,” he added.
