The government's position was voiced by Daniyar Amangeldiev
During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Marlen Mamataliyev addressed the First Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev with a proposal to conduct a new amnesty for the legalization of cars with foreign license plates. He noted that after the previous amnesty, the state budget received 1 billion 800 million soms.
However, Amangeldiev stated that a repeat implementation of such a program is impossible.
“During the last legalization, all necessary resources were allocated, a commission was established, and special windows were organized in registration bodies for the convenience of citizens. Unfortunately, many approached this process without the necessary seriousness. If we start explaining to our partners in the EAEU again, it may raise doubts and accusations that Kyrgyzstan is facilitating smuggling, not contributing to the common budget, and legalizing such cars on its territory,” he added.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the issue was thoroughly examined, and at this moment, there is no possibility to continue the legalization program.
