The STEPS study showed that 76.2% of the population leads an insufficiently active lifestyle, 44% smoke, and 48.9% consume alcohol.
"More than half of our health (50–55%) depends on lifestyle," the experts noted.As medical professionals assert, regular physical activity:
- contributes to improved blood circulation;
- helps maintain a normal weight;
- normalizes blood sugar and cholesterol levels, reducing the likelihood of hypertension, stroke, diabetes, and cancer.
- More intense physical activities, such as running, swimming, cycling, sports games, or physical labor, further strengthen the cardiovascular system.
- However, the maximum effect is achieved only in combination: physical activity, balanced nutrition, and the rejection of harmful habits.
