Zhapаров discussed with the head of the ADB the Kambar-Ata-1 and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov held a meeting with the President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Zou Jiayi, as reported by the press service of the head of state.

During the meeting, key issues regarding the bank's participation in major infrastructure initiatives were discussed, such as the construction of the Kambar-Ata 1 Hydroelectric Power Station and the implementation of a railway connecting China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

Japarov emphasized that industrialization is one of the main directions of state policy. He noted the need to implement projects that provide high added value, as well as to modernize the industrial sector and develop resource processing.




Additionally, the head of state highlighted the need to address the issue of electricity shortages. In this context, he noted the strategic importance of constructing the Kambar-Ata 1 Hydroelectric Power Station and updating the country's energy infrastructure.

Projects related to transport logistics and road construction were also discussed. The president pointed out that infrastructure development would contribute to increasing the transit potential and competitiveness of Kyrgyzstan's economy.

Zou Jiayi emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is one of the founders of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and is regarded as an important strategic partner. She confirmed the bank's intention to continue financing current projects and explore new initiatives.

According to the administration, the bank is ready to consider the possibility of participating in the financing of the Kambar-Ata 1 Hydroelectric Power Station, as well as to evaluate proposals from the Kyrgyz side regarding the railway project connecting China, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
