In the upcoming week, from February 16 to 22, viewers can expect several interesting new releases on streaming platforms and TV channels. The lineup includes both thrilling premieres about mystical abilities and aliens in a village, as well as continuations of beloved series. Among the new releases are thrillers based on true events, historical melodramas from Mexico, and complex detective stories from Europe.

“56 Days,” thriller, premiere (February 18)

Chiara (Dove Cameron) and Oliver (Evan Jogia) meet in a supermarket just before the lockdown begins. In search of companionship, they decide to self-isolate together. But after 56 days, a body is discovered in their apartment. Detectives try to piece together the events to determine who is the victim and who is the murderer. The plot is based on the bestseller by Catherine Ryan Howard, written during the real lockdown of 2020.

“The Mentalist,” mystical detective, premiere (February 16)

The main character, psychologist Polina Mikhailova, seems like an ordinary specialist at first glance, but she has a unique gift: by touching an object or a person, she can see their past. Hiding her abilities, Polina joins the police to search for her missing sister and begins working with Captain Igor Vetrov, played by Makar Zaporozhsky. Igor is a professional, skeptical of the supernatural, but soon realizes that he cannot do without Polina's help.

“The Last Thing He Told Me,” detective, second season (February 20)

This detective thriller is based on the novel of the same name by Laura Dave. The family of Hannah and Owen finds themselves in a difficult situation: Owen becomes a suspect in an economic crime, and his daughter Bailey clashes with her new stepmother. When Owen disappears, leaving a note asking for help, Hannah and Bailey begin their search and soon learn about his dark past.

“The Night Agent,” thriller, third season (February 19)

The main character, a young FBI star, is assigned to guard the basement of the White House next to a phone that never rings. At first, he hopes his job will be important, but over time it begins to feel boring. Everything changes when the phone finally rings, and he finds himself caught up in a political conspiracy.

“Portobello,” drama, premiere (February 20)

The plot focuses on the life of Enzo Tortora, a well-known host of the show "Porto Bello," who finds himself at the center of a scandal related to drug trafficking.

“Oderbruch,” detective, second season (February 22)

Near a small village on the German-Polish border, the bodies of 248 murder victims are found. The investigation is led by Inspector Stanislav Zayak from Poland and Commissioner Roland Voigt with former police officer Maggie Kring from Germany. Their personal stories intertwine with the horrific discovery, and the secrets of Oderbruch come to light.

“Chocolate on Boiling Water,” historical melodrama, second season

The events unfold against the backdrop of the Mexican Revolution, where Tita de la Garza (Azul Guaita Bracamontes) and Pedro Musquis (Andres Baida) are in love, but their feelings are threatened by family traditions. To cope with her emotions, Tita immerses herself in cooking.

“Out of Place,” comedy, premiere (February 16)

Igor is the only one who knows about the aliens in the village, but Sergey Petrovich begins to suspect something is wrong and starts his own investigation. Despite his efforts, the locals do not believe him, as the newcomers successfully blend into village life. Meanwhile, Sveta, the mother of Borya and Roma, is repairing their spaceship, and the whole family lives in human forms. However, hiding the truth becomes increasingly difficult due to strange events.
