Every Sunday, a large market takes place in At-Bashy, but for many residents, this process becomes a real challenge. Despite the fact that the market is a commercial entity, its infrastructure raises numerous complaints from buyers.

Among the main complaints are issues of safety and hygiene. Eyewitnesses report a troubling situation at the market. Due to poor roads and old tethering posts, large cattle sometimes escape. The freed animals pose a danger to passersby, leading to injuries. The condition of the toilets also leaves much to be desired — a lack of space and dirt cause dissatisfaction among both buyers and sellers.

Narynbek Zholamanov, the head of the "Dordoy" livestock market in the At-Bashy district, reminded that in 2017, the "Dordoy" association acquired this facility, and since then, modernization work has been underway.

Roofs have been installed over the clothing stalls, and the walkways have been paved with cobblestones. Canopies have been set up, and zones for cows and sheep have been designated, along with stands for securing animals. As part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic's "Safe City" project, three surveillance cameras are operating on the premises, with recordings available to law enforcement agencies. "We have started to pay more attention to the cleanliness of the toilets: they will be regularly serviced, some will be renovated, and the number of men's stalls will be increased," he reported.

According to local residents, the main problem lies in outdated legislation. The market was built in 2005 according to old standards. However, since 2015, new, stricter sanitary and technical requirements for agricultural facilities have come into effect.

According to modern standards, the market must be located at least 200 meters away from residential buildings and at least 30 meters from internal roads.
