The deputy appealed to the Cabinet with a request for a comprehensive approach to solving the issue
During the discussion, Bekeshev emphasized that state measures to support orphans are still not comprehensive. He pointed out the unresolved issues in the field of education, support for graduates of boarding schools, and, importantly, in the matter of providing housing.
“Although funds are currently allocated for deposits, this is clearly insufficient. State mortgages are not available to them. Not everyone should be directed to state mortgages — this is not a solution to the problem. We need to clearly define the direction we are moving in. In fact, housing from the State Investment Corporation has become inaccessible for many due to rising prices,” noted the parliamentarian.
Furthermore, Bekeshev added that obtaining state mortgage housing is impossible without a stable income.
He also suggested that the Cabinet consider alternative solutions, such as dormitories and service housing, as well as other forms of social assistance.
The parliamentarian expressed the idea of bringing this issue to the discussion of the council of ministers, emphasizing the need for deputies to understand the proposed solutions in order to respond to citizens' requests.
“I don’t want to tell people that the state is unable to help, or to offer them a mortgage where they might simply be rejected,” concluded Bekeshev, adding that expectations regarding obtaining inherited housing are also unrealistic.
