During the inspection, the mayor emphasized that the city authorities had already sent a request to the Ministry of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of the Kyrgyz Republic to oversee the implementation of the Old Bishkek project and check its compliance with previously established requirements.
“We have visited this site multiple times, held meetings with representatives of the developer, and urged them to bring the work in line with the approved documentation and urban planning standards. Nevertheless, the construction work continued,” said Junushaliev.
He instructed the builders to temporarily halt the work on the roof of the second floor. The mayor also directed the head of the Bishkek Main Department of Urban Planning and Architecture to review the submitted project and make the necessary proposals for its implementation in accordance with urban planning standards.
It is worth noting that in December 2025, Kamchybek Tashiev, while serving as the chairman of the State Committee for National Security, inspected construction in the same area at the request of President Sadyr Japarov.
Tashiev, after familiarizing himself with the situation on site, ordered the dismantling of structures and stops that narrow the roadway, as well as the demolition of the third floor of the building under construction, since the provided materials indicate that the project implied a two-story building.
