The decision for house arrest for Nasir Beyshebaev, a nephrologist at the National Center for Urology and Nephrology (NCOMiD), was made by the Pervomaisky District Court, as reported by lawyer Evgeniya Krapivina from the Kaktus.media editorial office.

Recall that on February 18 in Bishkek, the nephrologist, a candidate of medical sciences and associate professor, was detained on charges of possible medical malpractice related to the amputation of a patient's right leg, as reported by her mother. This incident occurred in 2024 at a medical facility.

In connection with the incident, a criminal case was initiated under part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning improper performance of professional duties by a medical worker, which resulted in serious harm through negligence.

The suspect was placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department.

The staff of NCOMiD addressed a video message to President Sadyr Japarov on social media, calling for an objective investigation of the case and for the easing of the preventive measure for Beyshebaev.

Health Minister Kanbek Dosmambetov emphasized the importance of a comprehensive and impartial examination of the circumstances of the case.
