The main goal of this event is to promote the preservation of linguistic diversity and support the culture of multilingualism.
The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Kara-Kul, Manas Abdykalykov, the head of the city’s education department, Gulnazira Kyrgyzbaevna, as well as school directors, students, and local residents.
The aim of the program was to foster a culture of multilingualism, develop artistic reading and creative skills among children and students, strengthen respectful attitudes towards the languages and cultures of different peoples, and promote the native language.
In the lead-up to the holiday, online competitions were organized in Kara-Kul in several categories:
- For preschool institutions — “Beshik yry — uluttyn bashaty” (“Lullaby — the source of the nation”);
- For elementary grades (1–4) — “Ene til — jürök til” (“Native language — the language of the heart”);
- For senior grades (5–11) — “Ar türdü uluttardagy birimdik” (“Unity of different peoples”);
- For city residents and heads of institutions — an essay of 2–3 pages “Til bilseñ, dil bilesiñ” (“If you know the language, you understand the soul”), as well as artistic reading of original works lasting 2 minutes (in video format).
Participants actively engaged in the competitions, expressing their respect for the native language through creativity.
During the festive program, schools in the city presented various performances, including:
- School No. 4 — “Hymn of the Language”;
- School No. 1 — greetings in native languages from different countries;
- School No. 2 — dances of the peoples of the world;
- School No. 3 — artistic reading in various languages;
- School No. 6 — performance of melodic songs in different languages.
Each performance showcased the richness of linguistic and cultural diversity, as well as the friendship of peoples.
At the conclusion of the event, certificates were awarded to the winners of the city stage of the Republican Subject Olympiad, and the results of the online competition were announced, with winners receiving cash prizes from the Kara-Kul mayor's office.
This event in Kara-Kul has become an important celebration that inspires youth to respect, preserve, and develop their native language.
- The International Mother Language Day is celebrated on February 21, it was proclaimed by UNESCO in 1999 and has been celebrated worldwide since 2000 with the aim of protecting and preserving languages.
