Janarbek Akayev, the mayor of Osh, conducted a raid in the central parts of the city, demanding a complete cessation of spontaneous trade. He emphasized that there should not be a single corner in the city where goods are displayed on sidewalks or roads.

According to the press service of the mayor's office, the mayor stressed that municipal authorities are obliged to create comfortable and modern conditions for trade; however, entrepreneurs must conduct their activities exclusively in designated areas.

Akayev also stated that order should be maintained by the heads and their deputies, while municipal inspections, police, and relevant departments of the mayor's office will patrol the streets daily.

During the raid, he addressed the sellers, acknowledging their everyday difficulties but insisting on the necessity of adhering to the rules. The mayor warned that if any concession is made to even one seller, then tomorrow dozens of others will come to that spot, and the situation will once again spiral out of control.

He urged all those wishing to engage in trade to go to the new market in the city. The market management was instructed to provide available spaces and enter into official contracts with entrepreneurs. “Trading on the streets is unacceptable. If you want to work — go to the market, sign a contract, and get your spot,” emphasized Janarbek Akayev.

Additionally, the mayor instructed to monitor the operations of auto services, oil change points, markets, and kiosks that were previously closed for violations, to ensure they do not resume their activities without permission.

Akayev warned that if the heads of services do not comply with these directives, measures will be taken against them as soon as the next day. According to him, the city needs to establish an "iron order," and the work that has begun must be completed.
