On February 28 of this year, a press tour for media representatives, bloggers, and active citizens took place in the Panfilov district of the Chui region at the new fish feed production plant owned by "Tian-Shan Trout" LLC. Participants of the event got acquainted with the production process and the operation of the enterprise.
The construction of the plant began in May 2025, with a total investment in the project amounting to 7 million US dollars, of which 5 million was received as a concessional loan from a state bank.
The production capacity of the plant is from 100 to 120 tons of feed per day; however, it is currently operating at 30-40% of its capacity, producing 30-40 tons per day. The plant offers 12 types of fish feed, with a primary focus on trout feed, utilizing technology from Iran.
The price for 1 kg of fish feed is 200 soms, although feed for fry may be slightly more expensive. At the same time, imported feeds range from 175 to 250 soms per kilogram depending on quality.
The complex of "Tian-Shan Trout" LLC is located on an area of about 7 hectares and, once it reaches full capacity, will be able to provide 100 to 120 permanent jobs.
The founder of the plant, Ilgiz Shamenov, emphasized that although domestic feed production is just beginning to develop, attempts to discredit the product without an objective assessment of its quality have already begun. In his opinion, these actions are driven by competitors who import feed from abroad.
Shamenov added that if the quality of their product does not meet standards and fish farmers incur losses, the company is ready to compensate for the damage.
“In case the fish die due to the low quality of our feed or farmers incur losses, we guarantee compensation in double the amount. If, as rumors claim, fish fed with our product do not gain market weight, we are ready to compensate the difference. All of this is just slander,” stated Shamenov.
