In Bishkek, the installation of vending machines for collecting bottles and cans was discussed

A round table titled "Green Entrepreneur" was held in Bishkek, where the installation of vending machines with a bonus system for collecting plastic and aluminum waste was discussed. During the event, representatives from business and government structures discussed joint efforts to combat plastic pollution.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources, priority locations for installing vending machines include retail chains, markets, gas stations, food courts, and educational institutions. This is expected to help foster a habit of waste separation among citizens.

Additionally, participants focused on preparations for the implementation of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic "On the Restriction of the Circulation of Polymer Film Bags and Plastic Products".

According to the ministry's data, starting from January 1, 2027, a ban will be introduced in the country on the production, sale, and distribution of plastic bags and products specified in the law (except for products intended for export and biodegradable bags without handles).

"The problem of plastic pollution is global, but thanks to innovative solutions and our cooperation, Kyrgyzstan can take a leading position in Central Asia in terms of environmental initiatives," noted Deputy Minister Jenish Seydaliev.

The ministry also plans to create a state brand "Green Entrepreneur" and raise the level of environmental responsibility among entrepreneurs, which will highlight companies that are already implementing the principles of sustainable development and circular economy.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants agreed to implement joint pilot projects and confirmed their readiness for long-term cooperation to achieve the ambitious goal of reducing the plastic footprint and transitioning to a zero pollution model in Kyrgyzstan.

Participants included First Deputy Minister Jenish Seydaliev, as well as representatives from leading companies such as LLC "Shoro", LLC "Coca-Cola Bishkek Bottlers", LLC "Asia Retail", LLC "Umai Group", LLC "Partner Oil", and leading polymer recycling enterprises.
