Tengiz Bolturuk, who previously held the position of head of "Kumtor Gold Company," gave a sharp response to criticism from the deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, Dastan Bekeshev, accusing him of populism and ineffective use of parliamentary time.

Bolturuk expressed his opinion through social media.

He noted that discussing his financial matters distracts deputies from more pressing issues. Bolturuk provided data indicating that the cost of maintaining one deputy is approximately 16.6 million soms annually, while an hour of parliamentary work costs about $8,200.

“Is it worth spending $8,000 an hour discussing my salary?” — questioned the former head of "Kumtor."

Additionally, he emphasized that his work has contributed significantly to the country's budget revenues.

Topics for discussion
Dastan Bekeshev criticized Bolturuk's salary and the "Heritage of Nomads" holding

Bolturuk also made accusations against Bekeshev, claiming that he may lobby for the interests of tobacco companies, and criticized him for "inefficient use of parliamentary time."

“Where are the discussions about the palaces in Jalal-Abad built with budget funds? Why does the Philharmonic in Jalal-Abad cost three times more than in Bishkek, while you are only concerned about my contract?” — he added.

In conclusion, Bolturuk urged deputies to focus on solving real economic problems rather than discussing his personal income.

Recall that earlier Dastan Bekeshev expressed the opinion that Bolturuk's salary of $55,000 is "excessive" for Kyrgyzstan. He also criticized the creation of the "Heritage of Great Nomads" holding, considering it an ineffective structure through which, in his opinion, budget funds could be leaking.
