As part of the activities to prevent domestic violence, Head of GOM-1 Altynbek Chynberdiev met with a woman, a mother of five children, who had previously reported her 30-year-old husband to the police. The husband was detained for several days; however, this is not the first time he has been held accountable for similar actions.
Despite this, the woman continues to live with her husband, noting that there is currently peace in their family.
A case of domestic violence was also recorded in the residential area "Ak-Ordo-3." The victim was granted an extension of the protection order. Her husband, who is unemployed and suffers from alcohol dependence, periodically causes conflicts in the family. On the eve of the New Year, he attempted to attack his wife and son with a knife, as a result of which the son defended his mother. The police decided to send the man for treatment at a narcological dispensary.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs had previously urged citizens of Kyrgyzstan to report cases of domestic violence during the holiday season.
