In Almaty, the first crematorium in the history of Kazakhstan will soon begin operations. This information was provided by the city's public health department, as reported by Tengrinews.kz.

On January 9, the Ministry of Justice registered a new order from the Ministry of National Economy, which amends the standard rules regarding burial and maintenance of graves.

At the same time, the process of approving the price list for cremation services is ongoing, which will be reviewed by the supervisory board of the Almaty City Pathological Bureau. Information about the rates and the procedure for providing services will be announced later on the bureau's official website.

In September of last year, representatives of the municipal infrastructure and housing inspection department of Almaty stated that there would be no more burial spaces in cemeteries within the next six to seven years. As of 2025, the city had 70 cemeteries, 61 of which are already closed. New burial sites will be located in the Almaty region.
