At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on January 14, deputy Elvira Surabaldiyeva stated the undesirability of relocating the special boarding school for children with visual impairments.

According to her, there are only two such institutions in the country: one in Bishkek and the other in Osh. The school in the capital educates 220 children, of whom 100 come from various regions.

“The relocation of the school to Vorontsovka is planned. Both the teaching staff and the parents of the students oppose this. They are asking for their opinion to be conveyed to the cabinet of ministers, keeping the school in its current location. The new address will be inconvenient, will create additional financial expenses for transportation, and the children have already gotten used to their route,” noted Surabaldiyeva.

Currently, the boarding school is located on Kulatov Street.
