Deputy Kamila Talieva responded to the criticism expressed on January 14 by Daiyrbek Orunbekov, who holds the position of head of the information policy department of the presidential administration. In his social media, the official urged elected representatives to refrain from populism and demagoguery when considering bills, especially those related to the improvement of Bishkek and the bill on state awards.

Today, at a parliamentary session, Talieva, who had previously criticized the bill on state awards, emphasized that deputies should not be told how to do their jobs.

“We carefully study the bills; I rewrite each of them ten times. It is not true to assert that we do not understand their content. My opinion on state awards is based on my experience as Minister of Culture. I speak into a microphone that represents not Orunbekov, but the citizens,” the deputy added.

Furthermore, Talieva reported that residents of the rural municipality of Arashan, where about 5,000 people live, have approached her with problems. According to her, local residents face difficulties in getting to the city due to heavy traffic and a lack of public transport. There is no traffic light at the turn from 7 April Street, which exacerbates the situation.

She also noted that bus No. 12 runs only twice a day — in the morning and in the evening, and residents are asking to extend the route of bus No. 51 by 3 kilometers. “We cannot ignore the requests of 500 people, as the local authorities are unable to help them,” she concluded.
