A disabled orphan will receive benefits totaling over half a million soms

The rights of a girl orphan from an orphanage in the Chuy region were successfully defended by the ombudsman, leading to the restoration of her state benefits. As a result, over 518,000 soms will be transferred to her deposit account — the amount of unpaid benefits for the past eight years, according to a statement from the agency's press service.

It became known that in 2025, during an inspection by the Ombudsman Institute, it was revealed that a number of orphans in orphanages in the Chuy region had not received the state benefits due to them. One of these girls is M.B., born in 2008, who has been living in an orphanage since 2017.

Despite the fact that as early as 2015, the Medical and Social Expert Commission recognized her as disabled, assigned benefits, and recommended psychiatric monitoring and participation in an inclusive program, payments were stopped after her transfer to the orphanage in 2017. This happened due to the lack of organized re-examination.

For eight years, no employees of the responsible authorities took any action to organize a re-commission for the girl.

After the appeal of Ombudsman Jamilya Dzhamanbaeva to the General Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Labor, an inspection began. As a result, the Ministry of Labor took disciplinary action against the employees who committed violations and restored payments from 2017 until May 1, 2026.
