In a conversation with the Kabar agency, the city leader noted that any difficulties during the construction phase are normal, as the process itself is complex. He emphasized that it is premature to draw conclusions about the safety of the project without waiting for its completion. Using the "Altai" town as an example, he demonstrated how often questions arise at the initial stage.
“There are indeed many questions surrounding the 'Altai' town. However, the work has just begun, and it is unreasonable to label the project unsafe before its completion. Specialists have already conducted the necessary surveys and calculations,” the mayor stated.
A journalist pointed out that concerns about construction safety are raised not only by the public but also by the director of the Institute of Seismology.
“The president of the Academy of Sciences noted that the project was not approved by the Institute of Seismology, and therefore their specialists cannot provide a conclusion. It is important to note that according to established rules, approval from the institute is not required for the approval of construction projects. The Ministry of Construction has subordinate organizations that are responsible for assessing the feasibility of construction on specific sites. It is known that there is a high level of groundwater, and the project takes this into account by proposing appropriate solutions. A new Osh market and a new Western bus station are also being built near the 'Altai' town, where similar issues are also being resolved through drainage systems. The clients of 'Altai' are also considering these technologies,” the mayor added.
Furthermore, the city leader emphasized that the authorities do not have the right to force residents to choose a particular construction company. Citizens should make their own decisions after familiarizing themselves with the issues and history of the project.
