At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh on February 4, Kunduzbek Suimanov drew attention to recent videos published on social media regarding driver training in driving schools. The deputy emphasized that it is his duty to represent the opinions of citizens, and the authorities should take public voices into account.

He posed a rhetorical question: "Is the opinion of citizens populist? I agree that 10 months is too long. The President himself mentioned that his training at DOSAAF took only 6 months. Many who studied during the Soviet era and have never been in a traffic accident also believe that a 10-month period is excessive. Young people can master the theory in a month," Suimanov added.

According to him, the director of one driving school proposed to shorten the training period to six months, allowing for an exam to be taken after three months. If someone does not pass, they should continue their training.

The deputy also noted: "We understand that there are victims of traffic accidents in every family. Hundreds, thousands of people talk about this. I did not oppose; I only suggested shortening the timeframes. There is no need to exacerbate citizens' discontent. If everything were done correctly, no one would express dissatisfaction. I want to emphasize that we have never claimed that the authorities do not care about the people. Yes, there are shortcomings, but they can be corrected," he said.

Suimanov added that if deputies had only a year or two left before elections, one could talk about populism. "But we still have five years, and we do not strive to just appear good. For example, in Tash-Komur, wastewater is discharged into the Naryn River, causing serious problems. I reported this based on appeals from 26,900 citizens. So, am I also a populist? I was elected to represent the interests of voters," the deputy concluded.
