Deputy Su laymanov responded to accusations of populism regarding driver's licenses

At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, the parliamentarian linked criticism on social media to the actions of the executive branch

Kunduzbek Su laymanov, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, responded to criticism on social media, where he is accused of populism due to his statements against extending the training period for obtaining a driver's license to 10 months.

At the parliamentary session, he noted that such accusations are not accidental and, in his opinion, they are connected to the position of the executive branch, which plans to implement new requirements.

Su laymanov emphasized that he is not expressing his personal opinion, but reflecting the views of citizens.

“We speak not only on our own behalf but also on behalf of hundreds of our voters. The state should take into account the dissatisfaction of the population and draw appropriate conclusions,” he stressed.

The deputy also reminded of his previous statement against extending the training to 10 months, suggesting an alternative approach: allowing the theoretical exam to be taken after three months. He added that if someone is not ready, they can continue their training, while successful candidates should have the opportunity to obtain their licenses.

Su laymanov expressed concern about the increasing number of traffic accidents, but emphasized that tightening requirements should not exacerbate public discontent. According to him, almost every family has victims of accidents, and this is a common problem for all.

Additionally, the deputy called for preventing conflict between the Jogorku Kenesh and the Cabinet of Ministers, suggesting that this issue be discussed during a government hour.

In conclusion, he noted that his goal is not to "score points," but to raise important issues on behalf of society.
