"Candidates and voters are partly right - their influence is limited"
Dastan Bekeshev, a member of the Jogorku Kenesh, expressed dissatisfaction with the current situation regarding the elections in district No. 13. He reported this on his social media.
In his opinion, legal manipulations like those occurring in district No. 13 do not contribute to high voter turnout in elections.
"In certain aspects, both candidates and voters are right - their opportunities are limited. Election results can be annulled at will, repeat elections can be announced, and previous results can be suspended and re-published," Bekeshev clarified.
He believes that those responsible for such events must be held accountable.
"In this context, a 'scapegoat' should be found. Without this, all accusations will fall on the shoulders of the voter, who believes in elections and comes to vote. Candidates also spent their time and resources," the MP added.
Furthermore, he announced his intention to exclude from the election bill provisions aimed at encouraging voters to participate in elections, as they will not lead to positive results.
We remind you that the Central Election Commission (CEC) reviewed its decision to annul the election results in district No. 13 and revoked it. As a result, the deputies became Aibek Altynbekov, Talant Mamytov, and Aigul Karabekova, who received the highest number of votes. The CEC also canceled the repeat elections.
Earlier, in November 2025, the CEC refused to recognize the election results in the district due to a scandal related to the installation of video cameras at polling stations by observers of candidate Bakyt Sydykov.
