In Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Justice has presented a draft amendment to the law "On Civil Status Acts" for discussion. The aim of these changes is to eliminate legal barriers that complicate the inheritance process for citizens who are not close relatives of the testator.

Currently, there is a practice whereby some citizens are denied the issuance of a death certificate for the testator because they do not fall within the circle of close relatives. This creates difficulties for notaries, who cannot open inheritance cases even in instances where the will is made in their favor.

The proposed bill includes a mechanism that will allow such citizens to obtain the necessary documents and exercise their inheritance rights without issues.

The draft bill is already available for review on the website of the Jogorku Kenesh, and the discussion is ongoing.
