The ombudsman helped orphans from Naryn receive inheritance after their mother's death

After the intervention of the Ombudsman Institute, the minors were able to formalize their inheritance

Jamilya Jamambaeva, the ombudsman, provided support to two young orphans from Naryn in restoring their rights to the inheritance left after their mother's passing.

An elderly woman, the grandmother of the 14- and 15-year-old children, approached the representative of the ombudsman in the Naryn region. She explained that after losing their parents, the children were left without proper inheritance documentation, even though a plot of agricultural land was registered in their mother's name. Relatives of the deceased began to contest the right to the land and refused to provide the necessary documents.

Employees of the Ombudsman Institute explained to the grandmother how to protect the children's rights, helped gather the required documents, and sent requests to the relevant authorities. The State Agency for Land Resources confirmed the existence of a 58-sotka plot registered in the children's mother's name.

After the Ombudsman Institute contacted the Legal Aid Service under the Ministry of Justice, a free state lawyer was assigned to the grandmother, and the case was brought to court. During the proceedings, the parties were able to reach a settlement.

As a result, the minors received a certificate of inheritance rights and were able to register the land plot in their name.
