According to the latest news, Russia and Ukraine have once again agreed to a temporary ceasefire to carry out repairs on the power line supplying the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

Rafael Grossi, the head of the IAEA, announced the reached agreement, which implies the introduction of a local ceasefire regime to restore the last backup power line leading to the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

Repair work on the power line is expected in the coming days. Grossi noted that this is already the fourth such agreement since the conflict began. A group of IAEA representatives has flown from Vienna to monitor the repair work.

It is worth noting that on January 2, the last backup 330-kilovolt line was damaged, leaving the ZNPP completely dependent on the only operational 750-kilovolt line.

In December 2025, the parties also reached a temporary agreement on a ceasefire to restore power supply to the nuclear plant.
