Dastan Bekeshev stated that such changes will negatively affect low-income segments of the population
Deputy Dastan Bekeshev warned about the potential increase in legal service costs in Kyrgyzstan. He shared this information on his Telegram channel.
According to him, a new initiative is being discussed in the legislative assembly.
“The introduction of the concept of ‘legal representative’ is planned. This means that in court, you can be represented by: yourself, a relative, a lawyer, or a legal representative. However, an ordinary citizen who understands the legislation will not be able to act as a representative, as this function can only be performed by a person with a higher legal education, three years of experience, and registered with the bar. As a result, an increase in prices for legal services is expected, which will particularly affect poor and socially vulnerable groups of the population, while more affluent citizens are unlikely to notice this,” noted Dastan Bekeshev.
He also added that these changes will impact lawyers: there will be increased control over their activities, and membership fees will need to be paid.
