
The decision was made by the First May District Court
According to the latest data, five individuals detained in connection with the appeal from a group of politicians and scholars to the president and the speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh regarding the holding of early presidential elections have been placed in the SIZO-1 detention center until April 10. This was reported by the First May District Court of Bishkek.
The detainees in the case of preparing mass riots include:
- A.K.S., born in 1966 [former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kursan Asanov];
- T.B., born in 1955 [coordinator of the "People's Parliament" and former head of the Prime Minister's Office Bekbolot Talgarbekov];
- K.A.A., born in 1968 [former deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Aaly Karashev];
- U.E.U., born in 1955 [former ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan Emilbek Uzakbaev];
- D.K.S., born in 1960 [former authorized representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Jogorku Kenesh Kurmanbek Dyikanbaev].
The investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under articles 41 part 2, 36, and 278 part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning the organization and preparation of mass riots.
It is worth noting that the appeal appeared on social media and in the media on February 9. The next day, on February 10, the president dismissed the head of the State National Security Committee and his deputies, and also carried out a partial reform of the State National Security Committee, separating the Border Service and the State Guard Service into independent structures.
On February 11, all 75 signatories of the appeal were summoned for questioning at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, resulting in the detention of five of them, and searches were conducted at their residences.
