Statement on the presidential elections. Two more detained
According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, two more individuals have been detained on suspicion of organizing mass riots. Among those detained are former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Kursan Asanov and ex-governor of the Osh region Aaly Karashev.

The press service reports that in recent days, information has emerged on social media and in the media that "75 citizens have appealed to President Sadyr Japarov and Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu with a request to urgently initiate new presidential elections." This appeal was signed by scholars, former prime ministers, former deputies, and representatives of the public.



The statement mentions that such actions could lead to political instability and disagreements in society, threatening the internal unity of the country. In this regard, the investigative service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has opened a criminal case under the article "Mass Riots" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Previously, Emilbek Uzakbaev, Kurmanbek Dyykanbaev, and Bekbolot Talgarbekov, who was one of the initiators of the appeal calling for new elections, had already been detained in connection with this case. The document was signed by 75 individuals, including scholars, former prime ministers, ex-deputies, and public figures.

The president's press secretary previously clarified that when Sadyr Japarov spoke about preventing a split, he meant not only Kamchybek Tashiev but also individuals like Bekbolot Talgarbekov and Emilbek Uzakbaev.
