Today it was announced about the death of Georgy Petrashov, the honored coach of Kyrgyzstan in cycling, as reported by the federation of this sport.
At the time of his death, Georgy Petrashov was 88 years old.
He was awarded the title of Honored Coach of the Kirghiz SSR and the Kyrgyz Republic, and is also an honorary master of sports of the USSR.
“Georgy Petrashov led the national cycling team of the Kirghiz SSR for many years, trained a whole generation of talented cyclists, and significantly contributed to the development of the country's cycling school,” the press release states.
In addition, Georgy Petrashov was the grandfather of Denis Petrashov, an international class master of sports in swimming.
