At a recent session of the Osh City Council, the financing of the football club "Alaï" was discussed. The deputies expressed concern about the club's significant expenses and its sports achievements.

Deputy Beksultan Usenov, representing the "Bir Bol" faction, asked the club's director, Mirlan Bakirov, about the feasibility of increasing the budget. "Your budget in 2018 was 18 million soms, and this year it has grown to 150 million soms. What are the club's results with such an increase in funding?" Usenov inquired.

In response, Mirlan Bakirov confirmed that recent seasons have been unsuccessful for the team. In 2024, "Alaï" placed 4th in the standings, while in 2025, the results worsened to 5th place.

Usenov cited the boxing school as an example of more prudent spending, where, despite a significantly smaller budget of 5 million soms per year, a silver medal was won at the Olympic Games. "Against this background, the budget of FC 'Alaï' seems unjustifiably high and requires thorough scrutiny," the deputy noted.

Osh's First Deputy Mayor Omorbek Torobaev stated that this issue had already been raised at a meeting of the relevant committee. He assured the deputies that special attention would be paid to the situation, and the club's financial activities would be analyzed for effectiveness.
