The Kyrgyzstan national football team suffered a defeat against the Equatorial Guinea team in a friendly match that took place on March 25 in Turkey.

The game ended with a score of 1:0, with the only goal scored from a penalty in the 40th minute of the first half.

This match was the first for the new head coach of the Kyrgyzstan national team, Croatian Robert Prosinečki.

“The opponent had only one dangerous moment. I believe that the penalty decision was controversial, but what can we do? We should have taken our chances. Unfortunately, we didn't score, and that's the result on the scoreboard. Overall, the game went quite well; we only struggled in the first 10-15 minutes, but after that, we controlled the match and created chances,” noted Kichin in an interview with the "Kyrgyz Sport TV" channel after the match.

The team captain also shared his thoughts on the new coach.

“The new coach encourages us to play through the ball and aims for game control. However, it's difficult to implement something in just 5 days. I am confident that in the future, his methods will yield results,” Kichin added.

The Kyrgyzstani team will play their next match on March 28 against the Madagascar team.
