
Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, and Xi Jinping, the Chairman of China, continue to support active cooperation, as reported by Sergey Shoigu, the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, after his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. According to Shoigu, both leaders are focused on regular interaction this year.
On Sunday, Shoigu arrived in China for talks with Wang Yi and emphasized that there is a strong friendship and productive cooperation between Russia and China.
“Our heads of state are actively communicating, and this suggests that this year we will continue to maintain regular contact,” the press service of the Russian Security Council quoted Shoigu as saying.
He also added that the discussion with Wang Yi was substantive, during which the parties agreed on a schedule for future meetings, including high-level summits.
Additionally, the participants of the meeting reviewed current international events affecting the interests of both Moscow and Beijing, as noted by the press service.
